Winter Season's Brew

A delectable hot drink full of spice.

4 cups cranberry cocktail
4 cups pineapple juice
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp. whole cloves
2 tsp. whole allspice
4 cinnamon sicks (4" each), broken up
1/4 tsp. salt
Serves 6
Measure cranberry cocktail and pineapple juice into percolator (see Note).
Insert stem and basket.
Place remaining 5 ingredients in basket.
Perk as usual.
Makes about 8 cups.
Pour into 6 large mugs.

Note:
Don't have a percolator?
Measure coctail and juice, sugar and salt into large saucepan.
Stir.
Tie spices in cheesecloth.
Add to saucepan.
Bring to a boil on medium.
Reduce heat to medium-low.
Simmer, uncovered, for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant.
Remove and discard cheesecloth with spices.
