The addition of Irish Mist whiskey adds a flavor that can't be denied. The creamy texture of these onions makes them a great addition to any spread.

* 4 tbsp butter
* 4 tbsp flour
* 2 cups milk
* 1/2 shot Irish Mist whiskey
* Chicken broth
* 1 bag frozen pearl onions
Servings: 8-10
Put the frozen onions in a 3 qt sauce pan. Cover with chicken broth until broth comes about 1 1/2" above the onions. Cook until tender. While this is cooking, melt butter then add flour. Cook 2 minutes while stirring to get flour taste cooked out. Whisk in the milk and Irish Mist. Keep whisking until the mixture thickens. When mixture thickens, add the cooked onions. Smash some of the onions.
