Always a favourite, this hearty, chunky chili will fill them up! Serve with warm biscuits.
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup diced carrot
1 cup chopped green pepper
2 lbs. beef stew meat
2 cans (14oz each) diced tomatoes (with juice
19oz. can of black beans, rinsed and drained
14oz. can of red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
5 1/2oz. can of tomato paste
1 to 2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. granulated sugar
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. cumin seed
1/2 tsp. caraway seed
1/4 tsp. salt
Sour cream, for garnish
Serves 8
Layer first 4 ingredients, in order given, in 4 to 5 quart slow cooker.
Combine next 10 ingredients in large bowl.
Pour over beef.
Do not stir.
Cover.
Cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours or on High for 4 to 5 hours.
Garnish individual servings with sour cream.
