1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef, simmer til pink is just out of it, drain and then add cup of water, onion, salt and pepper and a bit of carrot if desired.
Simmer til soft, about an hour.
Thicken with instant mashed potato flakes.
Place in 9x9" square, top with can of well drained kernel corn, then a mixed batch of instant potatoes.
Brush with butter and bake at 350F for 45 minutes. Can also add cheese slices to the top for the last 15 minutes, if desired.
