This two-tone salad is so festive! Its refreshing flavor works well with turkey, beef or in a buffet.
3 oz. lime-flavored gelatin (jelly powder)
1 cup boiling water
3 oz. lime-flavored gelatin (jelly powder)
1 cup boiling water
3/4 cup cold water
1/2 cup salad dressing (or mayonnaise)
1 tsp. white vinegar
1 cup finely chopped green pepper
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1 cup creamed cottage cheese
Serves 8 to 10
Stir first gelatin into first amount of boiling water in medium bowl until dissolved.
Chill, stirring and scraping down sides often, until it shows signs of thickening.
As soon as first gelatin goes in the refrigerator, stir second gelatin into second amount of boiling water in another medium bowl until dissolved.
Add cold water.
Stir.
Chill, stirring and scraping downsides often, until it shows signs of thickening.
To first gelatin, whisk in salad dressing and vinegar.
Add green pepper, celery and cottage cheese.
Stir.
Turn into 6 cup mold.
Chill.
When second gelatin is beginning to thicken, pour over top of first gelatin in mold.
Chill.
