Tonight I made Alton Brown's shepherd pie recipe found here:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/a...pe2/index.html
I made the following substitutions to get the macros in line with what I want:
Potato topping:
1 lb of potato instead of 1.5 lbs
2% milk instead of half and half
1/4 cup fat free sour cream instead of butter
Meat filling:
No canola oil, cook onions and carrots in nonstick pan with Pam
2 lbs 96% lean ground beef instead of lamb
That cuts down the fat and carbs and bumps up the protein. It turned out really tasty. I ate 1/4 of it and it was a filling one dish meal.
