Full-bodied flavor, lightened with soda. Fruit slices add a pretty contrast to the wine's deep red color.
1 cup brandy (8oz)
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 medium oranges, sliced
2 medium lemons, sliced
2 medium limes, sliced
2 bottles of dry red (or alcohol-free) wine (26oz each)
4 cups club soda
24 ice cubes
Serves 25
Measure brandy and sugar into small punch bowl.
Stir until sugar is dissolved.
Add orange, lemon and lime slices.
Stir.
Cover.
Let stand for 1 1/2 hours.
Add wine.
Stir.
Chill for at least 4 hours until cold.
Just before serving, remove citrus slices using slotted spoon, leaving 6 to 8 slices in bowl for garnish.
Add club soda.
Stir gently.
Add ice cubes.
Makes 14 cups.
