This mellow, spiced fruit drink is perfect for a relaxing evening shared with friends.
4 cups apple cider (or juice)
4 cups orange juice
4 cups cranberry cocktail
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cinnamon stick (4"), broken up
1 1/2 tsp. whole cloves
1 1/2 tsp. whole allspice
Serves 12
Measure first 5 ingredients into percolator (see Note).
Insert stem and basket.
Place remaining 4 ingredients in basket.
Perk as usual.
Makes about 12 cups.
Pour into 12 small mugs.
Note:
Don't have a percolator?
Measure first 5 ingredients and brown sugar into large saucepan.
Stir.
Tie spices in cheesecloth.
Add to saucepan.
Bring to a boil on medium.
Reduce heat to medium-low.
Simmer, uncovered, for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant.
Remove and discard cheesecloth with spices.
